About

Green Thread Gardens was established by Kianna Gonzalez, a New York City-based horticulturalist and professional gardener. Rooted in permaculture principles, Green Thread Gardens aims to create productive, ecological, and aesthetically pleasing landscapes for residential, community, and educational spaces. By offering comprehensive design, installation, and care guidance, Green Thread Gardens empowers clients to cultivate thriving gardens that become cherished parts of their lives for years to come.

Our Mission

Green Thread Gardens weaves the beauty of ornamentals with the bounty of edibles, crafting vibrant and seamless landscapes. Our mission is to design biodiverse ecosystems inspired by permaculture principles, promoting self-sufficiency and ecological balance. Through permaculture design and organic practices, we empower individuals and communities to cultivate homesteading-inspired landscapes that are both aesthetically pleasing and environmentally enriching

Originally with a background in Fine Arts, Kianna transitioned to horticulture by earning a certificate from the New York Botanical Garden's School of Professional Horticulture. She has also completed a certificate in Floral Design and is developing an interest in Dry Stone Wall building, bringing a unique perspective to garden design and installation.

Passionate about all aspects of horticulture, from herbalism and design history to plant morphology, Kianna believes in connecting people with nature through productive garden spaces. Green Thread Gardens is committed to increasing access to fresh, healthy produce and promoting sustainable practices.
